West Wakefield Health and Wellbeing wins GP award
Congratulations to West Wakefield Health and Wellbeing (WWHW) who have won first place in The General Practice Forward View Innovations - Developing the Practice’ category, at 'The General Practice Awards' on the 30 November. The Award recognises the exceptional work performed by WWHW to improve patient care and introduce more sustainable ways of working for the future.
The event was hosted at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, where the room was crowded with GPs, practice managers and national leads for primary care from across the country.
Commenting on the event, David Cowan, Care Navigation Programme Manager said:
“The atmosphere was electric and everyone was busy sharing great success stories at their tables. All the nominated entries were at a very high standard, where clearly some of the GP Practices had gone through tough times, but have made really positive changes.”
Certa have helped West Wakefield Health and Wellbeing collate two years’ worth of innovative learning material to develop and produce an accredited training programme which has accredited over 2000 learners to date. The award winning, training and consultancy Care Navigation Programme has extremely high demand - it is the UK’s only accredited Care Navigation Training Programme, which aims for receptionists and frontline staff to help signpost patients; all designed to ensure patients are getting the right care at the right time.
WWHW’s Business Intelligence Lead, Russell Houghton, said:
“Certa was a valued local organisation and were selected for their good reputation. The Care Navigation programme shows that their model of signposting saves GP time and significantly improves patient care as well as giving good job satisfaction to the employees.”
