Supporting Young People with Dyslexia - Rotherham MBC's Children and Young People's Services

Rotherham MBC's Learning Support Service is using Certa accredited units to support teaching assistants working with children and young people with dyslexia. There are two Certa units of study, both at Level 3: 'Knowledge and Understanding of Dyslexia' and, 'Supporting Dyslexic Students and Curriculum Delivery'. The course is an example of how Certa accredited and quality assured units, or, alternatively, Ofqual regulated Qualifications can be used to provide continuing professional development training for staff in a variety of settings. The Rotherham course will see successful participants gaining 6 Certa credits and we would be interested to know if potential partners would like to see this developed into a Regulated Qualification on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
